Festival of Voices transforms our towns into singing cities every July.As Australia’s premier celebration of the voice, we attract thousands of singers, choristers and music lovers, for the chance to hear harmonies soaring in concert halls, theatres and public spaces across the state. The Festival is proud to bring some of the most respected singers from across Australia and overseas to our shores. For eleven years we have presented a remarkable program of performances and – uniquely – vocal workshops run by critically acclaimed artists, creating a Festival experience like no other.A few years ago Brian Eno suggested that those moments when you sing collectively you stop thinking about ‘me’ and start thinking about ‘us’.
This thought, outside of the undeniable artistry contained within, is at the core of our Festival. When we say we make this island sing we believe that we are not only providing an abundance of talent, light and warmth to our winter months but we are also bringing communities together to celebrate those moments of ‘us’.
