Mike Calder has been a proud Tasmanian for 30 years and for the first 20 years he was a teacher and keen amateur photographer.

During those amateur years, he improved from a rank beginner to win gold medals in four international exhibitions of photography and four national exhibitions of photography in Australia. He was awarded Fellow of the Tasmanian Photographic Federation (FTPF), Fellow of the Australian Photographic Society (FAPS) and Artiste de la Federation Internationale de l’Art Photographique (AFIAP). In 2007 he turned his hobby into a business and still hasn’t stopped smiling. He produces postcards, greeting cards, calendars, diaries and books featuring his beloved Tasmanian landscapes, animals and plants. His “work” takes him to all corners of Tasmania, capturing images for his next products – and for his own satisfaction. And he loves it.
