Renee Beale is a science communicator and curator committed to increasing public education, awareness and engagement in science. She is particularly interested in science and art, and how the two disciplines many inform each other.

Renee has over eight years experience in science communication, runs artist residencies in the School of Chemistry, and curates exhibitions involving historical items used in chemistry research. She also manages cultural programming at Carlton Connect Initiative, the University of Melbourne where she brings together people from diverse backgrounds, particularly from the arts and sciences, to curate events and exhibitions.

Prior to her current activities, Renee trained as a research scientist earning a PhD in Genetics from the University of Melbourne and spent three years in a postdoctoral research position at Monash University.
